I. Core Function
The overflow type ball mill is specifically designed for wet closed-circuit grinding. The feed pipe is a static feed channel that is inserted into the rotating hollow shaft sleeve of the mill:
1. The original ore and return ore slurry are conveyed into the mill cylinder;
2. The rotating hollow shaft and the static chute are isolated, and the sealing components are used to prevent the mineral slurry from flowing back and leaking out;
3. The feed flow rate is controlled to reduce blockage and impact wear.
II. Overall Structure Composition
1. Tube body (three-section main body)
 Feed straight pipe section: connected to the classifier return sand tank / feed hopper, with flange connection;
 Transition curved pipe section: inclined and inserted into the hollow shaft, the lower part is the most severely worn;
 Inserting section (inner insert pipe): fully inserted into the feed sleeve of the hollow shaft, the end is often enlarged for flow diversion.
2. Matching sealing components (core part of slurry leakage)
The feed pipe is static and the hollow shaft rotates. The gap is sealed to prevent slurry leakage:
(1) Packing fillers seal: multiple layers of wear-resistant packing + pressure ring compression, the most commonly used;
(2) Conical rubber / polyurethane sealing sleeve: placed on the outer wall of the feed pipe, bolted compression, to prevent slurry splashing;
(3) Return slurry retaining ring / spiral diversion groove: to guide the backflow slurry back into the pipe, reducing the wear of the seal;
(4) O-ring + multiple water-blocking rings: for large mills, a dual-sealing scheme is adopted.
3. Hollow shaft feed sleeve (matching component)
Cast steel wear-resistant sleeve, fixed in the inner hole of the mill's hollow shaft, the feed pipe passes through from the inside, bearing the impact of the mineral sand, and can be replaced separately after wear.

III. Typical Faults and Causes
1. Rapid wear of the lower pipe wall: The slurry is subjected to gravity and washed down the lower half of the pipe, resulting in thin pipes and perforation of the slurry leakage; an adjustable top-bottom type tube body can be used to extend the service life.
2. Large amount of slurry leakage at the sealing area
 Aging packing, loose pressure ring bolts;
 The outer circle of the feed pipe is worn and loses the circle, the sealing gap becomes larger;
 The mill liquid level is too high, the slurry in the cylinder continuously flows back into the sealing area.
3. Pipe blockage: too small bend angle, too small pipe diameter, high return sand concentration, mineral sand accumulation; optimize to a large arc transition, increase the inlet diameter.
4. Wear and scratch of the sleeve on the feed pipe: after the hollow shaft sleeve is worn thin, the rotating sleeve rubs and scratches the outer wall of the static feed pipe, damaging the seal surface.
